Dr. Mayank Mohan Agarwal completed his urology training (M.Ch.) from Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) – a tertiary research and referral institute of international fame based in Chandigarh, India. In addition he holds national gold medal for Urology awarded by National Board of examination. On awarded fellowships he has visited and worked with stalwarts in Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, New York (MSKCC); University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and Wake Forest University, Winston Salem, North Carolina (WFUBMC), USA.
Dr Agarwal is a compassionate clinician and an avid researcher with 14 years of experience. During his tenure as assistant and associate professor in PGIMER (India) he authored over 70 research articles in international peer-reviewed journals, chapters in urology books (Indian as well as international) and has written a manual of urodynamics based on his years of clinical and research experience in this field. He has introduced novel concepts in flow-volume nomograms and flow-volume index in uroflowmetry, re-popularized micturitional urethral pressure profilometry and discovered a novel pattern in detrusor contraction in patients with pelvic floor dysfunction. He developed a novel continent-cutaneous neobladder in patients undergoing cystectomy, a novel laparoscopic technique for tailoring and reimplantation of megaureters, and helped establish the role of tamsulosin in patients undergoing ESWL for renal and ureteric calculi through research. He as an editorial association with BMC Urology, Indian journal of Urology and Current bladder dysfunction reports. He has been invited by several national and international societies for delivering lectures.
Dr Agarwal has 14 years of extensive clinical experience in endourology, advanced urological laparoscopy (ablative and reconstructive), uro-oncology, advanced urodynamics, female urology and neurourology. He is currently working as consultant and head of urology, NMC Specialty hospital, Abu Dhabi for over 3 years.
